An Overview of the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the qualities laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1 - 7 and Titus 1:6 – 9. This man must possess the ability to disciple, teach and shepherd members of the church community. He will be a man who is guided by God’s Word as set forth in the Bible in all matters and able to effectively; a humble servant; able to both lead and take direction; compassionate, gracious, and personable in interpersonal dealings; and trustworthy and able to counsel people when called to do so and listen with reflexive listening skills and a kind spirit.

The Candidate
We are seeking a man with spiritual maturity reflecting the character of Christ in both his private and public life. A man with a passion for the edification and growth of God's Church through the expository preaching of His Word. A man with the God given abilities to communicate meaning and insight from Scripture in a way that connects with the congregation and effectively leads to learning, understanding, and application.
The Qualifications
Born-again, baptized believer who loves the Lord. Fulfill the scriptural qualifications of a leader found in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Possess a proficiency in biblical theology and the ability to convey biblical truth to all age groups. Nationally certified in Biblical counseling (ACBC) is a plus, but not required. Willingness to engage the local community and support of church's ministries and missionaries. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to reflectively listen. Maintain a healthy balance of personal growth in the Lord, family life, and ministry life.
Ministry experience preferred but not required. Baccalaureate degree from an Accredited Institution and Master of Divinity or equivalent required. The First Church of Christ, located in Bolivar, PA is seeking an evangelist who is committed to proclaiming the Gospel message and growth of God’s kingdom. Ideally this would be a full-time ministry however consideration will be given to a bi-vocational evangelist. We are a conservative congregation deeply rooted in the Restoration Movement. We are located in a rural setting in southwestern PA (about 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, PA). The congregation is self-supporting and has no debt. Sunday morning services are attended by approximately 75-80 with a Sunday school attendance of about 40. We are seeking an enthusiastic, scripturally sound individual who is experienced in preaching and teaching from the pulpit as well as a classroom setting. Weekly services are held Sunday morning and Sunday evening. The ideal candidate will be an individual who is willing to speak the TRUTH boldly while working with the leadership and members of the congregation to edify the flock as well as reach out to the lost. The congregation has numerous Outreach Ministries and supports several missions.

Glen Lyn Church of Christ (GLCOC) is actively seeking a new Sr. Minister. We are a non-denominational Independent Church of Christ / Christian Church associated with the Restoration Movement. GLCOC had an avg. attendance of 57 from January thru December for 2025. We are located in Glen Lyn, VA., Giles County, western Virginia and joining southeast West Virginia.
Our preference is for someone with at least 5 years of experience as Senior Minister in the Restoration Movement Independent Church of Christ / Christian Church. We are an instrumental church that uses blended music in our style of worship.
We are prayerfully seeking God’s direction for the right minister to help lead us in growing closer to our Lord in our daily walk with Him. We are still attempting to rebuild in our attendance due to loosing half of our attendance during the Covid-19 epidemic with the Virginia Governor closing all churches down.
